Patricia Grace

Patricia GraceOften, I meet family members who feel overwhelmed by guilt confusion and fear, because they made a promise to take care of their parents. Out of love, many feel the responsibility to provide eldercare themselves. Most often, this is not the best choice.

With over 21 years experience in the senior health field, Patricia Grace recognized the needs of our aging population and their families and founded Aging with Grace. Ms. Grace has worked extensively in the assisted living and long-term care industry educating the elderly and their children on senior housing, Alzheimer's care, home care and adult day care options. Patricia has gained an excellent reputation for her engaging interactive programs on caregiver issues that she presents to large labor audiences across the country. She appears frequently on TV and radio discussing topics from senior housing to caregiver stress in the work place. Ms. Grace has been admitted into the Round Table Group's expert network.  The Round Table Group organization is based in Washington, D.C. and is one of the world's preeminent consortia of consulting experts.

Ms Grace launched her successful sales and marketing career with Aetna/USHealthcare as a Medicare Sales Representative in 1993 where she met or exceeded sales goals until her departure in 1996. Dr. Sandra Harmon-Weiss, Medical Director, Government Programs selected her, to appear with her on area radio and television programs. Ms. Grace continued her successful career with Avandel Healthcare as the East Coast Sales Director where she identified and directed the nationwide Medicaid program.

Patricia transitioned into the assisted living industry with Manorhouse Retirement Centers, Inc where she was selected by the CEO to trouble shoot census challenged buildings in the Southeast region of the country. Ms. Grace has been appointed for a 2 year term 2009-2011to the Advisory Council, Montgomery Co., Area Agency on Aging, Commonwealth of PA. In 2009 she was appointed to The Roundtable Group a national consortium of experts.

Patricia has been actively involved in community and non- profit organizations such as the RSVP, Twilight Wish Foundation, CAPS, Society of Certified Senior Advisors, Eastern PA Geriatric Council. She served as Co-Chair for the East Coast Aging Conference in 2007 & 2008. Ms. Grace was a finalist for the 2007 Business Forum Award by the American Society on Aging. She is the host of the weekly internet radio program, Aging with Grace on BlogTalkRadio.

Rita Files

Rita FilesWorking with families who need assistance with eldercare issues affords me the unique opportunity to use both my nursing and senior living experiences in a way that benefits people during this very stressful time. Helping families find the right care option while offering them the healing touch of patience, understanding, and knowledge is tremendously rewarding.

Ms. Files, a nationally recognized “subject matter expert” on the knowledge and skills needed for working with the elderly, has over 29 years in the healthcare industry, with 17 years focused primarily on eldercare. Her background includes program development for many leading providers in the senior living industry. Files works with families to make eldercare transitions a peaceful process as they navigate some of the most important choices that they will face.

Rita started her career in geriatric care as a staff nurse at Elizabeth General Hospital, Elizabeth, NJ. She took her love of working with the elderly and their families to Marriott Senior Living Services where she served in several leadership roles from 1992-1997. During her career with Marriott Ms. Files won several National and Regional performance awards.

After achieving state and national certifications in assisted living administration, she was recruited by and worked for several regional and national providers of assisted living.

She founded Senior Living Transitions in 2007 to offer a full-service support system to seniors and their families that were planning later life moves. In 2008, Ms.Files joined Aging with Grace as co-partner and took on the responsibility of the development and implementation of the company's new business model.  This innovative approach to eldercare stress issues and their impact in the workplace, provides the services and a resource needed by today's working caregivers and their families.

Rita's decision to become a certified VA Benefit consultant in 2009 was borne of her commitment to honor those who have served, and to make sure they too are well served. Veterans and their families now have an advocate and a powerful resource to provide them with accurate information about the Veteran's Pension, commonly known as Aid & Attendance.

Ms. Files received her nursing diploma from Union College and studied at Kean University. In addition to her nursing experience, Ms. Files holds both state and national certifications in Assisted Living Administration, is a Certified Senior Advisor® through The Society of Certified Senior Advisors™, and holds certification in Veteran Benefits through the National Veteran Organizations of America

What People Are Saying

"Just wanted to drop you a line with thanks for all you've done so far. It really helped to talk with AWG about options for care for my 91 year old grandmother. Even though some options were not available due to her financial situation, I felt encouraged by the end of our call because a whole new set of resources and options were presented that may allow us to meet the same objective of high-quality care within our means. I especially appreciated the follow up call with the encouragement to keep going."
